ASSA ABLOY's Sustainability Council

ASSA ABLOY has been working aggressively with sustainability since 2007 when its’ Sustainability Council launched a three-year program to integrate operational procedures for quality and environmental management, as well as mandate measurable results. A key goal of this program was to develop a structure that allows everyday operations to continuously improve their sustainability performance.

Sustainability targets

The program culminated with ASSA ABLOY’s 2010 Sustainability Report showing improvement in all major KPIs, including significant progress in phasing out use of hazardous chemicals and processes. The program has been so successful that the Sustainability Council renewed and extended through 2015 with defined targets for water consumption, energy efficiency, green house gas emissions, chemical handling and employee health & safety.
