Italian retailer experiences Besam's "can do" spirit
When a routine service call turned out to be a much more complex project, Besam colleagues in Italy, Sweden and the Czech Republic worked together to create a quick and impressive solution.
Italy’s largest discount retailer, EuroSpring, needed to quickly replace a sliding door at one of its stores outside of Milan. The initial information provided to Besam Italy’s service department was that a single door had been accidently damaged by a car, and as EuroSpring was an existing Besam customer, Italian service staff was anticipating a relatively "quick fix".
But when the Besam service team arrived on site they found the damaged entrance was actually a vestibule that had been almost completely destroyed by the impact with the vehicle.
Besam Italy contacted production colleagues in the Czech Republic who were already standing by to produce the single sliding door system they thought was needed for EuroSpin. Could they do four sliding door systems with insulated glass, as well as the liner frames, and extra profiles needed to rebuild the vestibule? The answer was a resounding YES.
With support from Besam product specialists in Sweden, the production team was able to produce and ship all the necessary components for the new vestibule the following week. This allowed Besam Italy to complete the installation within nine working days of the damage occurring, an impressively quick turn-around for such a complex project.
