TESCO Express in China chooses the SL90

Besam China has sold and installed its first SL90 operator, which was launched in China earlier this year.

The high-quality, medium-priced operator was specially designed for the Chinese market, where a unique style of wall-mounting is required by the retail segment. The order from TESCO China also includes Besam’s slim ADS systems and side screens.

TESCO Express is TESCO China’s first convenience store that is open 24 hours a day. If the pilot store is successful, they plan to open more than 50 stores in China before the end of next year.

Besam China is also providing complete sliding door systems for TESCO’s traditional supermarkets in China. More than 30 doors have been installed the first half of 2009 and another 65 doors will be installed in the 2nd half of the year.

Response to the SL90 has been very positive so far, with additional Chinese distributors placing orders shortly after the launch.
